Airline hiring needs forecast in Boeing report

Boeing is forecasting a pilot hiring need for airlines of nearly 500,000 pilots over the next 20 years. The estimates were announced in a report released by Boeing on August 29, 2013. The figures are based, in part, on projected pilot retirements and the new FAA requirement for higher total flight times and additional certification for incoming, new hire airline pilots.
