Sailing on Whiskeytown Lake

Whiskeytown Lake is located about 8 miles from downtown Redding. The lake is part of the Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, which offers trail hiking, mountain biking, camping, kayaking, boating, and swimming. It is a popular destination for locals in the summertime for quick dip in the lake to cool off at one of several sandy beaches.
